K.V. Krishna Das was best outgoing student of first ever batch of MBBS from the Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, walking away with four gold medals. After completing his postgraduate training in the UK, he returned in 1960 and remained in government service for 30 years, retiring as Director & Professor of Medicine. He is the Chief Editor of two textbooks for medical students. Recipient of lifetime achievement awards from the Government of Kerala, Association of Physicians of India, and Indian Society of Haematology & Blood Transfusion, he has served as Member, AIIMS Governing Board Delhi; Overseas Counsellor of Royal College of Physicians UK, Academic Council Member, NAMS Delhi. His publications in peer-reviewed medical journals of API, ISHBT, IRA and IMA are frequently cited and later joined its board of editors. His research areas include iron-deficiency anaemia, neoplasms of blood and infectious diseases. He was also on the expert committee that published the public health policy and drug formulary of Kerala. Five of his students have been honored with the Padma Shri. He continues to provide online consultation, promotes wellness and empowerment of the elderly besides mentoring young medical practitioners.

    L.N. Kamalam, the life partner of the Founder-Trustee, is his equal companion who has home-nursed the elderly and family members who had chronic ailments. She has fostered students from villages who stayed on in the city to complete their college education. Ever keen about life and current affairs, she enlightens friends and students on Bharatiya spiritual discourse, Carnatic music and Yoga.
